Our Timeline
1993
Toni founded the original Predict Engineering Services, later known as ABB Predict, and was responsible for assembling the key elements that led to the growth and success earned by Predict.

2000
Predict Engineering was sold to ABB, operating as ABB Predict. Toni founded the ABB school of maintenance (ABB SOM), the first of its kind in Africa. Became the sole agent for FLIR Systems in Africa.
2004
Yellow Technical Services (t/a
Yellotec) was founded in 2004 by
Toni de Sousa, with its focus on oil
analysis for mobile equipment in
the earth moving industry, generally
known as yellow plant, hence the
name Yellotec.

2007 – 2009
Yellotec marked several significant milestones, including relocating from Kyalami to Woodmead Office Park and being awarded the Pruftechnik agency for Africa and won FLIR agency for South Africa. The company transitioned from using CSI to Pruftechnik vibration analysis equipment, further strengthening its technological capabilities. In a major achievement, Shell Stasco entrusted Yellotec with the condition monitoring contract for its Marine Division.
2010 – 2013
Yellotec experienced rapid growth, acquiring ABB Predict staff and launching the Yellotec Training Centre. The company re-entered the South African industrial vibration analysis and condition monitoring market, was awarded the Prüftechnik Laser Alignment agency, and transitioned to a PTY LTD. Yellotec also built its first calibration labs for infrared thermography and laser alignment systems, and achieved ISO 9001 compliance in 2013.
2014
Celebrated 10 years in business with a fresh new logo and website, growing from just 2 people to a team of over 100 strong.
2015 – 2018
Yellotec moved its head office to Boksburg and opened an official Training Center in Woodmead. The company became the South African agent for RDI Technologies, introducing groundbreaking motion amplification technology to the market. In 2016, Yellotec further cemented its credibility by achieving ISO 17025 compliance.
2023
Yellotec proudly achieved several awards from our partners, including the FLUKE Best Technical Competency, Mobius Best Training Partner in Africa, and Teledyne FLIR R&D and Science Platinum Partner.

2024
Yellotec achieved ISO 45001 certification, reinforcing its commitment to occupational health and safety. The company also earned several prestigious awards, including recognition for the best acoustic performance in Africa from Teledyne FLIR.
